Space Shuttle Down Safely

Earlier today, at around 9:10am the two very distinct sonic booms could be heard over central Florida.

Actually, my office is in Titusville (close by The Kennedy Space Center) and it shook the building. Being something we haven't heard in a while it was somewhat surprising!

Here's a link to some NASA provided content about the mission. Click HERE.

Congratulations to all the astronauts on a successful mission and a safe return to Earth.

Sonic boom?

Holy CRAP! Scared the life out of me... I live in Merritt Island, so when the shuttles go off, I can see them very clearly from my front porch... well, there I am, sitting on my back porch, smoking the morning cancer stick and trying to wake up with my coffee, when BOOM! The wind (yes, WIND) from the re-entry/boom/whatever blows my hair back, blows my window blinds all over, and freaks my cat out... I had no idea the shuttle was coming in, so I thought a cannon ball (or some other projectile) hit my house and was waiting for debris to come raining down... they really ought to warn people of these things...

And yes, congratulations on a successful mission and return :)

Next time, will someone please give me a heads up?
