Poscribes Web Site Update

As I previously reported in my Anniversary post I have been making some changes both in front and behind the scenes to try and stream line as well as monetize some of my efforts here at www.poscribes.com.
To date I have experimented with a couple of advertising services and currently I can report that AdBrite has proven the most successful (about $80 in two weeks). Google Adsense on the other hand is proving to be more of a black art in showing some signs of success. In the same time frame I have only made $3.70.
Having consumed numerous posts from reputable bloggers, today marks the start of another phase in advertising experimentation. This time around I have chosen to display a couple of the 300x250 Ads (1 Adsense, 1 Adbrite) per recommendations found at John Chow's site, in a sort of head-to-head challenge. John seems to have experienced great success with Google Ads of this size and with my small success to date with AdBrite I decided to do a simultaneous test. Both ads will be displayed on each post and have the same degree of exposure as the other. It will be interesting to see what happens!
I have also during this time secured one paid ad from Performancing.com for Enterto Spamless Email, a FREE email service offering I might add.
The stats for the site are steadily increasing, largely in part to a peak ranking of number 3 on Google for the search term 'Top Christmas Gifts for 2006' and a current number 9 ranking for 'Top 10 Christmas Gifts for 2006'. The first post has been read more than 10,000 times now. Simply amazing! Obviously I hope the increased traffic will continue into the New Year, although I fully expected it will drop some.
Since moving into our new home and setting up the 'office'. I have made an effort to try and keep things a little more organized although I do have to admit I need to do better still and once we are the other side of the New Year I intend to do a little reorganization.

Well that's just a quick recap of where things stand at the moment. Like I have said I intend to make some more changes in the New Year including possibly moving the systems into their own data closet and the site into a high-availability configuration on a much more powerful system.
I will also be rolling out in the New Year a statistics page (linked from the main menu) that will show the number of visitors along with, for the various methods employed a breakdown of the revenue streams enabled in support of this site. This will be a manually updated page, probably at weekly intervals.
Only 5 more shopping days till Christmas!
UPDATE:
I had some formatting problems that I mostly solved with a little style editing however, the AdBrite revenue took a sharp decline after doing so. That said, I have removed the AdBrite content ad and returned to the original Top ad placement that was performing very well! Also, 2 like ads next to each other might be not to Google's liking. No sense taking the chance.

It was just the ads above
It was just the ads above the blog entries.. It was doubled up before so you had to scroll several times to get through the ads, and to the posts... Tis better now though.. :)
On a side note, welcome to your mom and brother to the states!

Ads
These ads are a bit much. They take up the entire page...

I've scaled back the content
I've scaled back the content ads due to some style issues, one of which is ongoing at the moment. That said, the majority (over 80%) of visitors have a screen resolution of 1024x768 or larger. I don't see it being a problem!
