DIGG - The Social News Site

By now I think everyone has heard of Kevin Rose's social experiment gone wild. Yes, that's right DIGG!
Regular visitors to this site will already know that I have a constantly updating feed of the most 'dug' stories running through the DIGG systems (scroll down on the right, it's there!).
Simply speaking Digg is a revelation putting the control for social news popularity into the hands of the masses, namely the site vistors themselves.
Most recently DIGG expanded its base to include stories outside the technology arena while also upgrading their service to Version 3. Some annoyances that I have personally noted is the on/off requirement to be logged in to read a story (some you do, some you don't). Another pet peev is the spawning of new windows when you click on a link. I have always liked being able to go through the news opening an array of tabs that then link to a particular article but now I am presented with tabs that spawn other windows and it is somewhat frustrating to have to then go back and close a link or previous tab.
Teething issues aside with Version 3, DIGG is a great service. Well done Kevin, Jay and other members of the DIGG crew.
Dave
