About Me!
Where do I begin? Okay, so my name is David Evans although most people simply call me Dave. I have been known to answer to various other cries in the street but that's the one that works the best.
I started this site back in November 2003 as a way of sharing my experiences stateside with friends and family back in the U.K. More recently it has evolved into a sounding board for my own thoughts, findings and some general ramblings mostly regarding Apache, PHP and MySQL.
Yes, that is correct I am a transplant hailing originally from the shores of the United Kingdom or more specifically that of the County of Kent. I was born in Sidcup, raised in Swanley where I attended High Firs County Primary School and Swanley School before joining the Royal Navy in 1987.
I served just shy of eleven years in the Navy following which I moved to the U.S in 1998. The word 'poscribes' stems from the fact that I was in the 'Writers' branch of the Royal Navy who are nicknamed 'scribes' and as Petty Officer that becomes 'p o scribes' or 'poscribes'.
I have lived in several states mostly due to employment changes (including Wisconsin, California, Oregon and most recently Florida). What can I say about Florida, I love it! On top of which I met Lea here and she really is my soul mate, what more could a guy want!
Okay enough mush, my current occupation sees me Directing the Information Security areas of a Credit Union service provider a job that is both rewarding and very tedious at the same time.
Where do I see myself in 5-years, well hopefully healthy and enjoying life with Lea and hopefully doing something lucrative as well as fun also.
